Biography of Ryosaku Miwa (Ryukisho)

• 1940: Born in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, as the eldest son of Miwa Kyusetsu XI (Jusetsu).

• 1958: Entered the Department of Sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts.

• 1967: Completed graduate studies in ceramics at Tokyo University of the Arts. Presented the graduation piece “The Elegant Life of Hanako (High Heels)”.

• 1974: Built his own kiln in Ueno, Tsubaki-higashi, Hagi City.

• 2003: Succeeded to the title of Miwa Kyusetsu XII.

• 2019: Adopted a new ceramic title “Ryukisho” and began a new phase of creative activity.
